This module aims to provide participants with a foundational understanding of United Nations peacekeeping, including its principles, mandates, mission structure, and operational challenges. Learners will develop essential knowledge to support mandate implementation, enhance field effectiveness, and contribute to international peace and security.
The International Peacekeeping Mission Training Programme
The International Peacekeeping Mission Training Program is designed to equip participants with the practical knowledge and skills needed for United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations.
This training is conducted online, self-paced, and flexible, and is specifically intended for military and police personnel who will be deployed on peacekeeping missions.
The program provides in-depth understanding of:
- Fundamental UN principles in peacekeeping operations
- Protection of civilians and international humanitarian law
- Crisis management, diplomacy, and field coordination
- Gender perspectives and cultural sensitivity in peacekeeping missions
